With an expanded family, the client's brief for this project was an upwards extension to this 1930's Elwood home and updated kitchen and living spaces. With the existing dwelling having a clear visual identity, we felt it was important to have a clearly defined modern aspect to the addition, rather than to try and blend in. The silvertop ash shiplap cladding in a raw natural finish will age and vary over time, and provides a simple, elegant contrast to the existing heritage look and feel below.
